CM directs officials to hold chaupals in villages to resolve public grievances

Warns PWD officials of strict action against officials responsible for bad condition of roads

Officials should hold chaupals in villages to ensure swift redressal of public grievances. From time to time, the officials should also hold chaupals in the night to hear public grievances and resolve them on the spot. A roster of Tehsil Diwas should be made and they should be held regularly.Further, special focus should be laid on simplification of process to ensure that the people benefit from the various welfare schemes being implemented by the government. Additionally, action will be taken against officials responsible for the bad condition of roads. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while chairing a meeting with Tehri district officials on Sunday.

Dhami said that two G20 events are slated to be held in the Tehri district. All arrangements should be made to exhibit the cultural heritage, local products, religious and tourism activities of the district along with special works. This is a golden opportunity to bring Uttarakhand on the global platform, he said, while adding that it is also a good opportunity to encourage local products. Special focus should be laid on what can be done on the concept of local to global, said Dhami. Referring to the target of making Uttarakhand drugs-free by 2025, he directed the officials to conduct an elaborate public awareness campaign at the district level. He also stressed on necessary efforts to achieve the target of making Uttarakhand TB-free by 2024. He told officials of the Public Works Department that strict action will be taken against officials responsible for the bad condition of roads. Dhami also inaugurated 61 Amrit Sarovars in the district, 100 nutri-gardens, 62 Anganwadi buildings, goat valley scheme in the district and online distribution of polyhouses to 100 beneficiaries among other works. He also inaugurated the project of developing one smart village each in the nine development blocks of the district on the occasion.

Tehri district magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar informed the CM about works done in various schemes and projects in the district. Chief development officer Manish Kumar informed in detail about progress in various development works. Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, district Panchayat head Sona Sajwan, MLAs Kishore Upadhyaya, Pritam Singh Panwar, Vinod Kandari, Shaktilal Shah and others were also present in the meeting.
