CM announces hike in incentives for Yuvak & Mahila Mangal Dals

The State government has increased the incentive given to Yuvak and Mahila Mangal Dals from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced this during an interaction with the representatives of Yuvak and Mahila Mangal Dals at his residence on Thursday.
Addressing the representatives, the CM said that the Mangal Dals play the role of the first responder during disasters and are also at the forefront in public awareness campaigns. He declared that a policy will be formulated to make Mangal Dals self-reliant and to provide loan facilities to them. The CM said that Mangal Dals will be trained under the Digital Mission and a portal will be created for connecting all such groups in the State.
Praising the work being done by Mangal Dals in areas like social service, cultural preservation and disaster management, the CM said that they have an important role in promoting the culture and traditions of Uttarakhand. These Mangal Dals are also playing an important role in strengthening the social consciousness of the state, preserving folk traditions and bringing positive change in every village, he said.
Dhami averred that the State government is operating many schemes to empower Mangal Dals. He said that Mangal Dals are being provided financial assistance ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh for self-employment. He added that a provision of Rs five crore has been made under the Chief Minister’s Yuva Mangal Dal Swavalamban Yojana, Rs two crore under the Chief Minister’s Rural Sports and Health promotion scheme, and Rs 60 crore under the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment scheme in the State.
Similarly provision of Rs 10 crore has been made under the scheme to prevent migration and Rs 21 crore have been earmarked for Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Yojana for providing technical and vocational training to youth.
In the programme the representatives of Mangal Dal also gave suggestions to the CM. Azad Dimri of Uttarkashi said that the incentive given to Mangal Dals should be increased. Khristi Koranga of Bageshwar said that Mangal Dals should be included in various meetings held at block and district level so that people can get the full benefit of government schemes. Monika of Champawat said that a portal should be created for important information and information in public interest.
Kapkote MLA Suresh Gadiya, Vice President State level monitoring council of PMGSY Shiv Singh Bisht, special principal secretary Amit Sinha, secretary SN Pandey, director Youth Welfare Prashant Arya and other officers were present on the occasion.
