The authorities on Thursday finally recovered the body of the woman warden of Chilla forest range,  Aloki who went missing in the road accident on Monday. A team of about 20 personnel of the State Disaster Task Force (SDRF) were looking for the missing woman for the past four days, the officials said. They said that the search and rescue team conducted intensive searching through modern search methods like sonar and underwater drones to locate the body while divers continued searching deep in the canal. A team of SDRF divers on Thursday started searching near Chilla Power House and another conducted a search using a raft from near the accident spot to the powerhouse. The team finally found the body in the canal near the powerhouse, SDRF Inspector Kavindra Sajwan said. He added that SDRF handed over the body to the police to carry out further legal proceedings. Five people died including two forest rangers and a warden after the car they were travelling in met with an accident while conducting the trial of the electric vehicle for Jungle Safari on Monday evening. The accident occurred on a road near the Shakti Canal under the Rajaji Tiger Reserve’s Chilla range on Monday evening, as per the officials. They informed that the forest department filed an FIR against the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle company’s manager, driver and manager of the company marketing the vehicle after the fatal accident. The department suspects that the fatal accident allegedly occurred due to a technical issue in the car while conducting the trial and filed the FIR. The police registered the FIR under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Laxman Jhula police station in Rishikesh. The police are investigating the matter, officials added.
