U’khand Berozgar Sangh to give STF ‘proof’ of alleged cheating in forest guard examination

Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh (UBS) will approach the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) seeking a probe into the alleged cheating in the forest guard recruitment examination held on April 9. The president of the union Bobby Panwar said in a Press conference here on Sunday that the STF was successful in arresting two people who tried to facilitate cheating through Bluetooth devices in the forest guard examination. Claiming that other means were also used to facilitate cheating, he alleged that some aspirants were called to a Haridwar village the night before the examination to make them practice the examination paper. “We also have some proof regarding this claim and we will approach STF with it,” said Panwar. He opined that such attempts shatter the State government’s claims of having everything under control regarding scams in recruitment examinations. He said that authorities have already arrested staff members of commissions organising these recruitment examinations in the State and the recent leak shows that there are still such people there. This is the reason the youth have been demanding a CBI probe in the recruitment examination cheating cases to ensure unbiased investigation without any influence of the State authorities, said Panwar. 

He said that leaks also raise questions about the efficacy of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) in conducting examinations. He claimed that his union had called a senior official of the commission regarding the alleged cheating but the official stated that he had no clue about it the next morning. He said that the recently arrested accused had taken advance from 15 aspirants which means examination papers are still being leaked at the commission level which is a cause of concern for youths. One can tolerate such blows just once or twice but consistent cheating in almost every examination breaks the morale of youths who work hard for years to prepare for these exams, said Panwar.
