The trend of allegations and counter allegations has continued in the Congress party in Uttarakhand. A day after Congress’ State election campaign committee chief Harish Rawat said that he had reluctantly contested the Assembly election from Lalkuan constituency,  the working president of the party’s state unit and  its candidate from Salt, Ranjit Rawat alleged that the managers of Harish Rawat had taken money from people in return for party tickets to contest the elections. He said that they had also taken money from some of his acquaintances. He further said that Harish Rawat cannot blame the party for fielding him from Lalkuan as he himself was part of the screening committee which finalised the candidates. The party’s working president further blamed Rawat for the issue of Muslim university which was capitalised upon by the Bharatiya Janata Party to target the Congress among other issues. He also alleged that the persons made the party’s state secretaries by Harish Rawat in Ramnagar constituency had worked for an independent candidate, which the Congress candidate from the constituency had complained about to the PCC.  However, no action had been taken in this issue so far.
