In latest Dehradun news, the special CBI court ordered four leaders, including the former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat, to give their voice samples as regards the 2016 Sting Operation cases that had sparked political upheaval in the State amidst the rebellion of MLAs of then ruling Congress party against the Harish Rawat-led Congress government. These resulted in imposition of Central rule for some months and then reinstatement of the Harish Rawat government following the intervention of the Supreme Court and confidence vote taken on the floor of the Assembly. The other three are former State cabinet minister and senior Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat, Congress MLA from Dwarahat Madan Bisht and the Independent MLA from Khanpur Umesh Sharma.  It is learnt from the CBI sources that the premier investigating agency would issue notices separately to these four leaders, asking them when and where their voice samples would be taken. Notably, the CBI had sought permission from the court to match the voices heard in these stings with the real voices of those purportedly shown in the stings.
