Canadian high commissioner discusses various issues with CM

The Canadian high commissioner in India, Cameron Macay met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM residence here on Monday. The two discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the spheres of tourism, agriculture, water, electricity and solar power along with educational exchanges.

Dhami said that Uttarakhand has a secure and peaceful environment for industries with there also being better relations between labourers and industrialists. There is no law and order problem while an effective system is in place for ease of doing business. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is being undertaken in a better way in the spheres of agriculture, horticulture, road, air and rail connectivity, tourism and other sectors. Dhami further said that by establishing coordination with Canada’s trade promotion team in Delhi, attempts will be made to bring possibilities of business and investment on the ground. The CM also laid stress on efforts to encourage natural farming. He further said that conditions in the nation had changed during the eight year tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi so far. A better environment has been created for the security of investors while same work culture opportunities have been made available for all. Canadian embassy consultant general (north India) Patrick Howard and Uttarakhand secretary Shailesh Bagauli among other officials were also present during the meeting.
