Schools in three districts to remain closed till April 30 due to Covid-19

Considering the rising cases of Covid-19 especially in Dehradun, the state cabinet has decided to impose night curfew in the area within the purview of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD). Informing about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting on Friday evening, cabinet minister and state government spokesman Subodh Uniyal said that the cabinet had approved night curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM in the area under the MCD. The night curfew will be imposed after orders to this effect are issued. In another decision related to the impact of the Covid pandemic, the cabinet decided to keep schools closed for students of classes I to XII in Dehradun district barring Chakrata and Kalsi, in the entire Haridwar district, Nainital municipality area and Municipal Corporation of Haldwani area till April 30.

In yet another development overturning the decision of the previous chief minister, the cabinet decided to put the decision of making Gairsain a separate commissionerate on hold for now. The cabinet also approved the Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Yojana under which a Mahalakshmi kit will be provided on the birth of a girl child. It was also decided that a Panchayat Bhawan will be constructed in each Gram Panchayat, there being a total of 2,338 Gram Panchayats in which this work will be undertaken.  Further, the cabinet also approved the decision to establish a plastic park in the state. This park will be built jointly by the Central and State governments.
