Moderate to dense fog alert issued for plains

Even as various parts of the state continue to experience foggy conditions especially during the morning and evening, the state meteorological centre has issued a yellow alert regarding the possibility of moderate to dense fog in some parts of the plains on Sunday. According to the weather forecast, moderate to dense fog is likely especially in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts of the state. Apart from this, ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the state. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy skies. Moderate to dense fog is likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and eight degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures reported at various places in the state on Saturday were 20.6 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 14.1 degrees Celsius and 9.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 10.8 degrees Celsius and 1.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.2 degrees Celsius and three degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
