Pangong disengagement- Harish Rawat questions union govt

Plunging himself into the raging battle between the Congress and BJP over the agreement reached between India and China in Pangong lake area of eastern Ladakh, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has said that questions would be asked if our brave soldiers would vacate the positions which they captured by showing exemplary valour and courage. Rawat took to social media to attack the Union government on the issue. He said that when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned the need for withdrawing our troops from strategically important Finger -4 area, the ‘bombardment team’ of BJP  led by its President J P Nadda unleashed an attack. “You take the shield of the army for attacking us. We are proud of our army. Questions would be asked when the areas which our brave soldiers captured get vacated,’’ he said. Rawat said that defence experts Lt General (Retd) Mohan Bhandari too has said that China should be asked to withdraw from the Depsang area where it has made its base.

He said that it appears that BJP leaders have special love for Jawaharlal Nehru as they are raising questions on the 1962 war. Rawat said that China stabbed India in back in 1962 and that time India was not militarily strong but now we are strong. The Congress leader conceded that Nehru was deceived by China but reminded that it was Nehru who made up such a military build-up due to which India was able to defeat Pakistan and is today in a position to stand up to China.
