The online helicopter booking process for Kedarnath Dham will start on April 20 at noon. The pilgrims can book their tickets for helicopter booking through the official website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) www.heliyatra.irctc.co.in. The officials said that Char Dham Yatra registration will be mandatory for booking helicopter services. The helicopter service will be provided from three locations to Kedarnath- Guptkashi, Phata and Sirsi. These services will be provided by eight government-approved operators- Aryan Aviation, Trans Bharat Aviations, Pawan Hans, Thumby Aviation, Global Vectra Helicorp, Himalyan Heli Services, Kestrel Aviation and Arrow Aircrafts. The officials said that the tickets will be booked for the journey period from May 10 to June 20 and September 15 to October 31. The ticket fare from Guptkashi, Phata and Sirsi to Kedarnath is Rs 8,126, Rs 5,774 and Rs 5,772 respectively. The officials said that IRCTC is the only authorised agency for booking helicopter services to Kedarnath and appealed to the pilgrims to use its official website only to book tickets to prevent any fraud. The authorities last year blocked over 43 fake websites claiming to provide helicopter services for Char Dham shrines. Many pilgrims were also duped by cyber frauds last year who were running such fake websites. The officials advised against randomly searching helicopter services to Kedarnath on Google and booking tickets without proper verification.
