U’khand to implement logistics policy to boost industrial growth

State endowed with natural beauty, good human resource & a fast expanding connectivity which creates an ideal environment for industries- CM Dhami 

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the state would soon implement the logistics policy to give an impetus to the industrial development in Uttarakhand. He averred that the State government has included suggestions of industrialists for framing the Industrial policy of the State. The CM was interacting with the entrepreneurs associated with agriculture, horticulture and food processing industries during the ‘Agro food processing conclave 2022’ held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday.

In the meeting deliberations on the investment scenario were held. Dhami said that it is the endeavour of the State government to attract maximum investment in the State and better facilities are made available to the industries. He said that Uttarakhand is a land of culture and spiritually and it is endowed with natural beauty and better human resources.  He said that road, air and rail connectivity in the State is expanding rapidly and regular dialogues with the representatives of industries are being held. He said that the conclave is dedicated to the ‘Advantage Uttarakhand’ theme. Dhami said that the State holds vast potential in the rural areas as well and there is a good scope in horticulture, organic farming, medicinal and aromatic plantations. The pharmaceutical, automobile and food processing industry is prospering in the State and recently an electronics manufacturing cluster, a pharmaceutical park and aroma park have been set up in the State.  

The agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi said that agriculture plays a great role in development of the nation and organic and natural farming is being promoted in the State. He said that a single window system for different types of clearances is available in the state for industrial development and 11 crops are being given GI tag. The animal husbandry minister Saurabh Bahuguna said that the emphasis on increasing production and marketing of the dairy products is being done in the State.  The chief secretary S S Sandhu said the investors would be provided with liaison officers if required. Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, BVRC Purushottam and Pankaj Pandey also spoke on the occasion. The Managing Director (MD) of Patanjali group Balkrishna said that Uttarakhand possesses four types of agro climatic zones and has a vast potential in agriculture and horticulture sectors. The representatives of many industrial houses were present on the occasion.
