Political drama by Congress futile, public knows the reality: Bhatt
The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt has said that the address of the governor in the Vidhan Sabha reflects the commitment of the State government to ensuring integrated development of the State. He said that the address focused on the State’s economy, self employment, forestry, agriculture and animal husbandry along with other important issues.Bhatt further said that the decision taken in the cabinet meeting to approve 10 per cent reservation in State government jobs for statehood activists is a major decision in the interests of the statehood activists.The decision to hike the MLA LAD is a good step which will provide impetus to development works, said Bhatt. He also welcomed the special arrangement approved for religious places by the cabinet.
Referring to the Congress he said that it should not run away from discussion on issues of the public. The sloganeering by the Congress members during the address of the governor was unfortunate, said the BJP State president. How will sensible debate be held if the MLAs do not even liste, he questioned. Bhatt said that the Congress needs to behave like a responsible opposition and become serious for the development of the State. Bhatt said that the “political drama” by Congress leaders outside the Assembly cannot be considered proper. “The Congress will not gain anything by such drama because the people already know the reality. Under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State government is working towards developing Uttarakhand into a leading State and the Congress needs to decide whether it will support or oppose this effort,” said Bhatt.
