The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that if the Congress leaders are planning to donate their hair to the BJP with the expectation of development, the party has no objection to accepting it. Stating that it seems as if the Congress is aware of the identity of the VIP allegedly connected to the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt has challenged the Congress to reveal his name.
Interacting with media persons at the BJP State office on Sunday, Bhatt said that former PCC president Ganesh Godiyal using his “Vedic knowledge” to justify the Mahila Congress leaders getting their heads tonsured is an attempt by the Congress to “wash off its sin”. He said, “The Vedic verse cited by Godiyal about the gods being happy where women are respected is about respecting women but why is he citing this Shloka as an example to justify women being motivated to tonsure their heads in public? This is an insult to women. The Congress has also stated that its leaders will get their heads shaved. The Mundan Sanskar is also done during Pitra Paksh and hair is offered to god wishing for a bright future for the family. If the Congress leaders are planning to get their heads shaved in sincerity for the BJP and with the expectation of the State’s development, the party accepts it.”
On the question of the VIP allegedly connected to the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the BJP State president said that he feels that the Congress is aware of the said person’s name. “I feel that the Congress is aware of the VIP’s name and by withholding it, the party is insulting Ankita Bhandari. The Congress should make that name public. The case is currently in court. The Congress should either name the VIP or stop repeatedly raising the issue,” stressed Bhatt.
