BJP to undertake vaccination drive during Social Justice fortnight

The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to encourage people for Covid-19 vaccination during its ongoing Social Justice fortnight. The BJP leaders including Members of Parliament (MP) and MLAs would visit the vaccination centres and inform people about the free vaccination drive in the country.

The media in-charge of state BJP, Manvir Chauhan said that the members of Yuva Morcha would visit the schools and encourage the students for vaccination. The MLA would undertake a free vaccination campaign in their areas and provide the details to the party office. He said that 1,72,90,463 doses of vaccine so far have been administered in Uttarakhand out of which 87,75,309 are the first doses while 80,66,584 are second doses. A total of 4,48,570 booster doses have so far been administered in the state.

Chauhan said that the Covid vaccination and vaccine production campaign are among many steps social welfare being undertaken by the BJP. He said that the vaccine production capacity and vaccination of a big population in less time is better than many advanced countries of the world. Chauhan said that PM Modi promised to give free vaccination on June 7, 2021 and provided financial support for it. In the budget a sum of Rs 35,000 crore was allotted for free vaccination which was later increased to Rs 39,000 crore. He added that the Central government has made a provision of Rs 5,000 crore for the state governments in the budget of 2022-23 which is unique in itself.

The BJP leader said that 4055 pressure swing absorption plants got started on April 11 this year. The government has allotted 40,2517 oxygen cylinders and 1,13,858 oxygen concentrators to the states and union territories for increasing their capacity of supplying medical oxygen. He claimed that India has become a major centre for production of PPE kits and N-95 masks in the world. The country is producing two lakh PPE kits and two lakh N-95 masks daily.
