Lending final touches to its preparations for the counting of votes polled in the Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party held a virtual meeting with its polling agents a day ahead of the counting to be held on Thursday.

The BJP State general secretary (Organisation) Ajey held separate virtual meetings with the polling agents of the party in Garhwal and Kumaon regions and issued necessary directions to them. They also discussed the preparations made for the counting of votes to be held today. Ajey informed the polling agents of all Assembly constituencies about their responsibilities. He said that they should note the phase-wise list of the counting of votes and tally the counting figures with the returning officer. The polling agents were directed to reach the counting venue on time and discharge their responsibilities efficiently. The party’s legal cell chief Rajiv Sharma informed the polling agents in detail about the legal aspects during the process. The BJP state general secretary Kuldeep Kumar and vice president Jyoti Prasad Gairola were also present in the virtual meeting. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier on March 7, the party’s state election in-charge and Union minister Pralhad Joshi had also stressed on the need for all party workers including the polling agents to remain alert during the counting of votes.
