The doctors at the Himalayan hospital Jollygrant here have claimed to have successfully transplanted a kidney in a male patient who is also suffering from a condition of weak heart. The mother of the patient donated a kidney to save the life of her son.
The medical superintendent (MS) of the hospital, Dr S L Jethani said that a 45 year old patient of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh was on dialysis for some time as both of his kidneys were not functioning. His mother was ready to donate a kidney but doctors were not prepared to take risk considering the feeble heart of the patient. The patient was later brought to Himalayan hospital where after careful examination a team of doctors successfully conducted the transplantation. Congratulating the team for the success, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Himalayan University said that the organ transplantation facility of the hospital would be expanded soon.
