The finance and parliamentary affairs minister Prem Chand Agarwal met the speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Ritu Khanduri at her residence on Saturday. The duo discussed the upcoming budget session of Uttarakhand assembly.

The two leaders also discussed many issues concerned with the development of the state. The speaker who is a member from Kotdwar assembly constituency informed the minister about different problems of Kotdwar city. The two leaders held interaction on ways of making the area under the Kotdwar Nagar Nigam clean and with modern facilities.

The second session of the fifth assembly of Uttarakhand would commence on June 7 and would be held in Bharadisain Gairsain, Chamoli district. The parliamentary affairs department has issued the order for holding the session.

Normally the budget session of the assembly is held in the month of February- March but this year the general budget of the state could not be prepared because of the assembly elections. After the election the Pushkar Singh Dhami government got a Vote on account of Rs 21,116.81 crore passed from the state assembly.

Since this vote on account was for only for four months the state government needs to pass the general budget and for it preparations have started.

For preparing the budget the finance minister Agarwal has sought suggestions from the common people and has said that the people of the state would play a major role in designing the budget of Uttarakhand this year. He said that the budget for the year 2022-23 would be the document dedicated to the common man. Seeking the suggestions of people, Agarwal said that the government wants people of every section of the society, area, housewives and those associated with small scale industry to come forward to express their ideas for the budget. Anyone can post their suggestions and plan for the budget on uttarakhandbudget@gmail.com.
