The United Sikh Federation has demanded that the union minister of state Ajay Mishra should be immediately removed from his position and his son Ashish Mishra should be arrested for his alleged role in killing of the farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh (UP). The members of the federation and Sikh community organised a protest at Gandhi Park here on Friday on the issue. A meeting was also organised on the occasion in which homage was paid to the dead farmers. The federation said that farmers were mowed down by the jeep belonging to the union minister and apart from arresting the culprits, a fast track court should be constituted for speedy justice to the victims. The president of federation Amarjeet Singh said that an atmosphere of fear is prevailing among farmers and minorities due to which the image of India is getting sullied in the world.

He said that the farmers are on the roads from last one year in protest against the three draconian farm laws but the government is not listening. Singh said that the three farm laws should be rolled back and MSP should be ensured. Singh said that the federation and Sikh community fully support the farmers and hope that the government becomes sensitive towards the problems of the farmers.
