Ambulance service responds to large number of accident calls on Holi

The 108 emergency ambulance service received six times more calls related to accidents on the day of Holi on Friday.  The General Manager (GM) projects Anil Sharma said that a total of 105 calls related to accidents were registered on Holi. He said that on a normal day 15 to 20 calls related to accidents are received by the ambulance service. He further informed that 133 calls related to pregnancy, 17 cardiac problems and 405 other calls were received by the 108 service on Holi. Similarly 272 calls were transferred to police as they were related to it. 

The service had cancelled the leaves of its staff and had made arrangements for deployment of security personnel with every ambulance. Additional mobile teams were pressed into service for Holi in all the districts of the state.
