AI ushering in revolutionary changes in all sectors: Governor

The Governor Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh has said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is bringing revolutionary changes in all sectors, from health services to agriculture, education and defence. The India AI Mission launched by the Government of India is promoting AI startups in the country. 

The Governor was addressing the students in the hackathon ‘Utkarsh 1.0’ organized by Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University here on Wednesday. He said there are many possibilities of using AI in the field of disaster management, mountain agriculture and health facilities in Uttarakhand. 

He said that the energy and enthusiasm with which the youth of India is innovating today is surprising the whole world. Campaigns like Startup India, Digital India, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat have put India on the path of becoming a global technology powerhouse. The Governor congratulated the university administration for promoting innovative experiments and wished the students a bright future. 

Technical Education minister Subodh Uniyal, who was present on the occasion, said that this event will prove to be a milestone in the field of technology. The vice chancellor, UTU Omkar Singh gave detailed information about the event.

The event saw participation of 216 teams from a total of 25 institutions including eight universities of the State. 

Delhi Technical University’s founder VC PB Sharma, Sunflox Technology’s Director Rajat Jain, Registrar Satendra Singh and students from various institutions attended the programme.
