Heavy to very heavy rain warning issued for six districts

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense showers also likely in isolated places

The State is likely to witness widespread rain on Sunday. Additionally, the State meteorological centre has issued warnings regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in six districts and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense showers in the State on Sunday.  Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the districts of the State today.

The meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Sunday. It has also issued another warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense shower likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers which may be intense/heavy rainfall in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 34.1 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.5 degrees Celsius and 26.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.4 degrees Celsius and 15.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25 degrees Celsius and 18.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
