In an important decision which would provide succour to the general public, the state government has fixed the rate of antigen test for Covid-19. The NABH and NABL accredited private labs would now have to conduct the rapid antigen test on payment of Rs 719. At present these labs are charging much more than this amount and there is no uniformity in the rates. Evoking powers under the pandemic act the secretary health, Amit Singh Negi said that the labs should provide a copy of all types of tests conducted by them to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) concerned and state surveillance officer for uploading the information on the ICMR portal. He said that the labs should strictly follow all the regulations.
