CM inaugurates & lays the foundation stone of 27 projects in Nainital

The chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 27 development projects of Nainital district worth over Rs 126 crore at a programme organised in Lalkuan on Saturday. These projects include schemes related to education, road, medical, irrigation, sewerage, urban development, beautification and protection of abandoned cows. While nine schemes were inaugurated which involve an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore the foundation stone of 18 schemes worth Rs 100 crore was laid.

In his address, the CM said that these projects would strengthen the infrastructure of the region and provide better facilities to the citizens. “India is becoming a leader in every field, including defence, science, sports and infrastructure,” he said and attributed the development momentum to the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.    

He also cited a number of projects being implemented to make Nainital district an ideal district in terms of development like mental hospital, Cancer institute, Ayush hospital, open gym, Ambedkar Park, Ring Road, Bypass Road, Astro Park, Pollinator Park and Sports University. Further, he mentioned the waste management and sewerage management schemes being launched in Haldwani to make it a clean and green town.  Jamrani Multipurpose Dam Project and Industrial Smart City in Khurpiya also figured in his speech and he expressed the hope that these would bring long-term benefits to the whole of Terai region.

Dhami said that his government would not just transform the State developmentally but protect its cultural identity and social harmony. He cited Uttarakhand having emerged as the first State in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code.
