Eid al-Adha celebrated in U’Khand with zeal

Eid al-Adha was celebrated with zeal and fervour throughout the State on Saturday. Members of the Muslim community were witnessed gathering in mosques across the State to perform the Namaz.
The festival was held peacefully amidst strict security arrangements made by the police. Many individuals engaged in the ritual ‘sacrifice’ of animals as part of their tradition. Local resident Shabana said that she had been preparing for the Eid al-Adha celebrations for the past week. She purchased several new outfits and adorned her hands with Mehendi also to fully embrace the occasion. She expressed her enthusiasm for celebrating Eid al-Adha with great spirit and prepared a variety of dishes to make the day memorable.
Another local resident Asif Khan said that he began his Eid al-Adha celebration by offering Namaz. In addition, he has purchased new clothes and various accessories for the occasion. He also expressed how he has invited some friends to join in the festivities. He emphasised that he started preparing for Eid al-Adha about 15 to 20 days in advance.
“To ensure the celebration is memorable, I prepared different varieties of food, with preparations beginning two to three days prior to Eid al-Adha. I also make it a point each year to buy new clothes and other items. Apart from this, I celebrated the Eid al-Adha festival with her family and friends every year,” said another local resident, Sara.
Notably, prior to Eid al-Adha, local residents had thronged the market to purchase various items a few days before the celebration for the preparations.
