Technical glitch forces chopper with pilgrims to emergency landing on road

A helicopter of a private heli company while taking off from its base in Barasu with five pilgrims for Kedarnath Dham on board had to make an emergency landing on the road after it developed a technical glitch.  All the five passengers on board are safe while the pilot suffered minor injuries. A senior district tourism officer said that the pilot had sensed the glitch in the nick of time and on seeing an empty road nearby, made the emergency landing. The pilot was immediately taken to a hospital. A vehicle parked on the road was damaged but the incident has no impact on the heli shuttle service.
