In a major action against the corruption, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government has suspended two officers of Indian Administrative Service ( IAS) and one Provincial Service (PCS) in the multi crore land scam in Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) on Tuesday.

The government has suspended district magistrate ( DM) Karmendra Singh, the then municipal commissioner of Haridwar Varun Chaudhary and Sub Divisional Magistrate ( SDM) Ajayvir Singh.

It is pertinent to mention here that the investigation was ordered by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the alleged land purchase scam by the MCH. It is alleged that the irregularities occurred in the purchase of 33 bighas of land by the MCH. This land in question was adjacent to the waste management plant of the MCH and it is alleged that its land use was converted from agricultural to commercial days before its purchase by the MCH.

The scam came to fore when the Mayor of MCH, Kiran Jaisal submitted a complaint in this regard to the CM Dhami.
