Man nabbed with smack worth Rs 54 lakh in Dehradun

The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) arrested a drug smuggler with 163 grammes of smack worth about Rs 54 lakh in Dehradun late on Thursday. The STF senior superintendent of police Navneet Singh Bhullar said that the accused, Ashish Singhal is a resident of Nayi Basti area of Race Course in Dehradun.
He was arrested from the community building area in Mothrowala under the Nehru Colony police station area. He said that during interrogation, Singhal told the police that he had brought the drugs from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He works as a security guard and sells the drugs to local youths. He has previously been jailed under the NDPS Act in Dehradun.
According to the SSP, Singhal used to divide the smack into small packets for local supply. The cash seized was reportedly earned through drug sales. Bhullar has appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and avoid getting involved in drug trafficking for any reason.
