While lauding the Indian armed forces’ astounding success in strategically targeting and destroying terrorist bases under Operation Sindoor, the State Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj highlighted the crucial role played by the NavIC satellite in this operation, noting its unerring navigation of the Pakistani air bases and terror hideouts. “A sample of the NavIC satellite is on display at George Everest Museum in Mussoorie,” he added.
Notably, the NavIC satellite is an indigenous navigation system developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) which is deemed similar to the United States’ GPS. “This satellite is unique in being utilised in various applications, including terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and more,” Maharaj said.
While lauding the motivating leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh among others, he said that the role of India’s armed forces, its commitment and dedication to the cause of national security and sovereignty during that critical time could hardly be over-appreciated. “I must commend and congratulate all working for the armed forces on the operation’s stupendous success,” the minister said, adding that this decisive and flawlessly executed operation has not only advanced India’s fight against terrorism but has also instilled a sense of pride among the Indians.
While referring to the combative spirit displayed by the women officers, he mentioned Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. “They personify exemplary courage and skill,” he observed.
“Further, the crushing defeat inflicted on Pakistan which unleashed the undeclared war on India has enhanced India’s global stature as a rising military power. Pakistan’s nuclear blackmailing has fallen flat and moreover, its nuclear installations have come under the range of the Indian strike. Now, Pakistan must shed its pathological hostility towards India or perish,” he said.
Maharaj also welcomed the decision by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to completely boycott the people from Turkey and Azerbaijan while they are travelling in India. Notably, these two countries have been lending support to Pakistan’s attempts to nurture terrorists. “This is an appropriate action,” he commented.
Dasauni questions Satpal Maharaj on NavIC claim
DEHRADUN : The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has criticised the Tourism, Irrigation and PWD minister Satpal Maharaj for sharing restricted and secret military information on the Operation Sindoor. She said that Maharaj had given a written statement to the press on Wednesday in which he claimed that the NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) played a crucial role in the success of Operation Sindoor. “Under what capacity he has given this information and what is the authenticity of what he is saying,’’ she questioned. Dasauni said that Maharaj has said what the director general military operation (DGMO), spokespersons of army and agencies have refrained to comment on. She said that a ban should be imposed on such statements which have a potential to affect national security.
