SSP focuses on police-army coordination for internal security

The Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Singh interacted with cadets undergoing training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and spoke in detail about the importance of coordination between the police and army in matters of internal security.
The interaction took place on Thursday at the Police Line auditorium in Dehradun, marking the beginning of a three-day police attachment programme for the cadets, scheduled from May 8 to 10. During the session, Singh discussed the evolving nature of cybercrimes and explained how fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated tactics to deceive individuals. He shared various preventive measures and encouraged the cadets to remain vigilant, especially while using social media platforms. He highlighted the growing threat of honey traps, phishing links and digital arrest scams targeting armed forces personnel and advised cadets to report suspicious messages or calls immediately to the police control room.
The SSP also elaborated on the crucial role of the Police Control Room (Dial 112) in emergency situations, offering insights into its functioning and significance. The cadets were briefed on the shared responsibilities of the army and police in maintaining internal security and the need for seamless cooperation between both forces.
The SSP said that through this interaction, he aimed to equip the future officers with practical knowledge on cyber hygiene, real-time coordination and the utility of police resources in crisis situations.
