Temperatures set to drop further in State

Temperatures are expected to drop further in the State on Wednesday. The State meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rain/thunderstorms likely to occur at isolated places in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts today. While dry weather is likely to prevail in the rest of the districts, snowfall is likely to occur at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above.

Provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively on Wednesday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Tuesday were 28.6 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.5 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.5 degrees Celsius and 5.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.8 degrees Celsius and 9.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in some locations with six millimetres in Jankichatti and 24.5 millimetres in Jakholi.
