65.6% candidates appear in Patwari-Lekhpal recruitment test

More than 1 lakh candidates appear for recruitment to 563 posts

The recruitment test for a total of 563 posts of Patwari and Lekhpal was held peacefully in the State on Sunday with 65.6 per cent candidates appearing in the exam. Congratulating the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) and the administration for successful conduct of the exams, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated that the State government will protect the interests of the youth.

According to official sources, out of the total 1,58,210 registered candidates, 1,03,730 appeared in the exams for 172 posts of Lekhpal and 391 posts of Patwari on Sunday. It will be recalled that the examination for these posts were first held on January 8 but were cancelled following complaints of question paper leak. The State administration had made all necessary arrangements to ensure conduct of the examination in a peaceful and impartial manner. Adequate security arrangements were made outside the examination centres across the State and the candidates were allowed to enter the centre only after being checked properly. Police personnel remained present at the centres till the examination completely concluded.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said that the examination calendar for various recruitments has already been released. He exhorted the candidates to prepare dedicatedly for the coming recruitment tests.
