In latest Dehradun news, three officers of the State commercial tax department may be suspended based on the charges levelled against him for facilitating GST payment evasion. Sources in the know informed that these three officers allegedly turned blind eyes to cases of GST evasion by persons who dispatched goods on the trains by parcels. The files related to such tax evasion cases have been sent to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by the administration, seeking his approval for suspending them. It is further learnt that these three accused officers have been removed from the posts they were holding and were attached to the State tax headquarters. Besides, they may be suspended once the approval from the CM office comes.    Notably, after such cases of GST tax evasion on parcels being sent on trains came to light, the joint team of administrative and tax department officers confiscated such goods at Dehradun and Haridwar railway stations.  Thereafter, the State tax commissioner and additional secretary Ahmed Iqbal removed the three officers from their posts and had them attached to the State tax headquarters on July 9 for taking no action against the GST evaders. At the same time, he recommended their suspension.
