222 positive cases & four deaths reported in U’khand on Sunday

A total of 222 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the state while four deaths of Covid patients were reported on Sunday. On the other hand, 178 Covid patients recovered from the disease on the same day.

With this, the number of total cumulative Covid positive cases detected in the state so far has reached 62,550, out of which 57,101 have been cured so far. The total number of active cases currently stands at 3,914 in the state while the recovery rate is 91.29 per cent. A total of 1,027 Covid patients have died in the state so far. While 9,413 samples were sent for testing on Sunday, the results of 11,592 samples are still awaited.

Out of positive cases reported on Sunday, none were reported from Almora district while the highest- 48 were reported from Tehri. Among the other districts, 44 positive cases were reported from Dehradun, 37 from Haridwar, 32 from Nainital, two from Bageshwar, five from Chamoli, six from Champawat, two from Pithoragarh, 12 from Rudraprayag, 19 from Tehri, eight from Udham Singh Nagar and seven from Uttarkashi.

When it comes to the active cases of Covid-19, Dehradun district leads the list with 754 cases followed by Pauri with 528. Among the other districts,t he number of active cases is 87 in Almora, 130 in Bageshwar, 185 in Chamoli, 102 in Champawat, 462 in Haridwar, 413 in Nainital, 203 in Pithoragarh, 269 in Rudraprayag, 276 in Tehri, 284 in Udham Singh Nagar and 221 in Uttarkashi district.

When it comes to containment zones, there are a total of 20 in the state. These include 13 in Dehradun, one each in Pauri and Champawat and five in Haridwar.
