212 people, including 2 from U’khand, evacuated from war-torn Israel

In latest Uttarakhand news, with the Indian government having launched Operation Ajay to facilitate the return of the citizens from Israel that is presently engaged in war with the extremists known as Hamas, 212 people, including two from Uttarakhand, were evacuated to Delhi in the maiden flight as part of the operation and thanked the Narendra Modi government for their safe return. Notably, most of the returnees are students who were studying there. They were received at the airport by the Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. They told the minister that the situation in Israel was volatile and frightening and their relatives back home were worried about their well being in the war-torn country. According to the government estimate, around 18,000 Indian citizens have remained settled down in Israel. Two from Uttarakhand who were evacuated in the first evacuation flight are Aarti Joshi and Ayush Mehra and they were received by representatives from Uttarakhand government.
