In latest Dehradun news, the education department has issued show cause notices to 15 private schools’ managers and principals for skipping the review meeting recently convened by the department. It is learnt that on the order of the chief education officer Pradeep Kumar, the deputy education officer Raipur Premlal Bharti has issued such notices, asking the authorities of these schools to reply to them by July 25 explaining the reasons behind the absence of the representatives of such schools from the important review meeting. The education department officers said that the meeting had been convened to review how these institutions have been implementing the RTE Act and the New Education Policy. “We have asked the managers and the principals of several recognised private schools. The representatives of 40 schools attended the meeting while 15 schools gave the meeting a miss,” said an education department officer, adding that in case these   schools fail to reply to the notices, actions would be taken against them for flouting the provisions of the RTE Act.
