In latest Uttarakhand news, with two days left for the Rakhsha Bandhan festival, a women’s delegation met the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence and tied rakhis on his wrist. CM reciprocated the gesture with gifts. Notably, a few days before the festival, the CM had announced a gift for women in the form of Mukhyamantri Sashakt Behna Utsav Yojana. This scheme will be implemented by the State women empowerment and child development department. With a large number of all-women self-help groups operating across the State, this scheme is meant to help these groups get market access for the products they are producing collectively. Under this scheme, the local products being made by the self-help groups would be displayed at a public place for sale in every development block of the State.
