Having donned the cloak of appeasement, the Congress tends to remember the Hindus when elections draw near. However, former chief minister and senior Congress leader of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat should give up doublespeak and clarify why he rejects Salman Khurshid’s statement denigrating Hindus but remains silent on Rahul Gandhi’s statements.

Stating this, the Bharatiya Janata Party state president Madan Kaushik has asked whether Rawat will condemn Rahul Gandhi’s statement and apologise to the Hindu community. “The election-time and Icchadhari Hindus who denigrate Hindus in Delhi are attempting to show a different face in Uttarakhand. The Congress which had hampered the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and called lord Ram imaginery repeatedly hurts the sentiments of the Hindus. How did this party become concerned about Hindus with the elections approaching near?

Harish Rawat should clarify whether he disagrees with Khurshid or Rahul as both are defaming and denigrating Hindus. If Rawat is really hurt by the statements of Khurshid and Rashid Alvi, he should ask Rahul Gandhi to apologise to the Hindu community,” said Kaushik. The BJP state president further averred that pursuing its policy of appeasement and strategy, the Congress has been hurting the sentiments of the Hindus which will not be tolerated.
