ASHA workers, CHOs & ANMs can do the work of health coverage in a better way, says Rawat

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the State government would fill all the vacant posts of Community Health Officers (CHOs), ANMs and nursing staff within three months. He added that providing better health facilities to the persons standing last on the social ladder is one of the priorities of the State government.

Rawat was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the universal health coverage day under the aegis of the National Health Mission (NHM) Uttarakhand at ITDA auditorium on Monday. He said that deliberations in the whole world are going on about increasing the health coverage. Rawat said that a two day programme was organised at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh in this context on December 10 and 11. He said that the ASHA workers, CHOs and ANMs can do the work of health coverage in a better way and the State government has decided to upgrade all the health and wellness centres in the State. He announced that all the vacant posts of CHOs, ANMs and nursing staff would be filled in three months. The mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama said that the State government is performing in a better way in the health sector.

The secretary in -charge of the Health department R Rajesh Kumar said that the telemedicine service in the State would be made more effective by linking the specialist doctors of medical colleges with the service. The Health director Dr Bharti Rana, NHM director Dr Saroj Naithani and others were present on the occasion.
