Will approach HC against non-recovery of excess salaries: Jugran

Senior BJP leader Ravinder Jugran has claimed that the disaster mitigation and management centre set the pay scales of seven employees in July 2017 higher than was permissible in the seventh pay scale. He alleged that the then finance officer KN Pandey and executive accountant Mohan Singh Rathore determined the allowances of the seventh pay scale incorrectly and in excess of the permissible limits.

Due to this, excess salary was issued to all seven employees but some officials of the disaster management department started recovering salary issued in excess to only two out of seven employees in January this year. He claimed that this was done on the basis of oral complaints which is allegedly illegal and shows biased behaviour of the officials concerned.

Jugran said that excess salary was issued to seven employees and recovery action should also be taken against all rather than targeting specific employees. He said that the department should also recover excess salary of Rs 1.35 crore from the remaining employees. He said that it is questionable why the department did not initiate any kind of recovery process for the remaining five employees.

Jugran said that he has written about the issue to higher authorities including the chief secretary and secretary of the disaster management department. “If no action will be taken to recover the amount from the five employees, we will have to approach the Uttarakhand High Court for justice,” said Jugran.
