Weather starts to clear after days of rain

The weather started to clear in most parts of the State on Thursday though the temperatures have remained comparatively lower. However, the State meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rain/thunderstorms likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Friday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies today with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 28.6 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30 degrees Celsius and 16.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.2 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.3 degrees Celsius and 8.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday with 37 millimetres in Pithoragarh, 26 millimetres in Purola, 30 millimetres in Jageshwar, 20 millimetres in Badkot and 12.5 millimetres in Dunda.
