CM, assembly speaker, others take pledge, offer tributes to Ambedkar on Constitution Day
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the constitution of India is unique and is full of many qualities. He opined that the constitution not only makes the citizen conscious towards their rights but also makes them aware about their duties. The CM was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Constitution day at Vidhan Sabha here on Friday. He said that the constitution is a torch bearer of our society. Dhami said that India is making rapid progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the pride and respect of the country has got enhanced under his leadership. The CM said that the decision taken by Modi has given a unique recognition to the country in the world. He said that after taking oath as CM of the state he has tried to dedicate every minute of his life to the people of the state and has taken many decisions of public interest. He said that the state government had taken a target to vaccinate the entire adult population of the state with the first dose till December but had achieved this in the month of October itself. Dhami claimed that the second dose of the vaccine too would be administered before December 15. Speaking on the occasion, the speaker Prem Chand Agarwal said the Constitution Day reminds us about our rights and duties enshrined in the constitution. He said that on this date in the year 1949 the constitution was prepared after two years 11 months and 18 days. Agarwal said that the interests of every section of the society are being taken care of by PM Modi.
The speaker said that the world’s biggest vaccination programme is underway in India and more than 118 crore people have received the vaccine shots.
He said that Baba Sahib B R Ambedkar played a key role in the making of the constitution of India. The speaker said that on April 14, 2017 he had taken a decision that every section and office of Vidhan Sabha would have a picture of Ambedkar. He added that Ambedkar was not a person but a thought.
The CM and the speaker offered their floral tribute to Ambedkar and released a book on the achievements of the speaker on the occasion.
The cabinet minister Swami Yatishwaranand, Secretary Vidhan Sabha Mukesh Singhal and others were present on the occasion.
