Various decisions were taken in the meeting of the state cabinet held at Bharadisarin in Gairsain during the ongoing budget session of the Assembly on Tuesday. The cabinet approved steps taken by the state government for implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the central government for the Kumbh Mela 2021. A total of 12 decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
The Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act 1959) (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Municipal Council Act 1959) (Amendment) Bill 2021 were promulgated. An amendment was also approved in the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan Act, 2018 (Act number 16, year 2018). The cabinet also approved Nagar Panchayat status for three Gram Panchayats- Thalisain in Pauri district and Lalpur and Siraulikala in Udham Singh Nagar district. Further, the cabinet approved creation of posts for operation of the Kedarnath Utthan Charitable Trust. The cabinet also granted approval to the bills for establishment of Devbhumi Uttarakhand University in Dehradun district and Surajmal University in Udham Singh Nagar district while also approving amendment in Swami Ram Himalayan University Act 2021.
