In latest news from Uttarakhand, the police circle officer Barkot Uttarkashi, Surendra Singh Bhandari while conducting half-yearly inspection of Purola and Mori police stations directed all police personnel to gear up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He checked the disaster tools and the weapons kept at the police stations. He also examined the weapon handling capacity of the police personnel. He instructed the station officer Mori and the station officer Purola to crack down on narcotics smuggling and on criminals with a heavy hand so as to ensure peace during the time of electioneering. Bhandari instructed the police personnel on how to facilitate free and fair election by curbing disruptive forces. Plus, he ordered them to follow the rules laid down by the Election Commission in letter and spirit after the model code of conduct is enforced.
