A seminar on the occasion of World AIDS day was organised by the Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS) in the auditorium of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Friday. Addressing the seminar, the SHO Dehradun Cantt, Alok Gupta said that the AIDS patients should be treated with love and respect so that they should not feel isolated. He said that AIDS does not spread by touch or by eating together. Gupta said that awareness about the disease should be increased in the society. He also exhorted the students present on the occasion to donate blood. The medical superintendent of GDMC hospital Dr Anurag Agarwal, Head of Department of Medicine Dr Narayanjeet Singh, Jailor of district Jail PK Kothari and Additional Project Director of USACS, Dr Ajay Kumar also addressed the seminar.
A cultural programme on HIV/ AIDS was also organised on the occasion.
