UPES ties up with Wipro GE healthcare for BTech programme

 The School of Health Sciences and Technology of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has entered into an agreement with the Wipro GE Healthcare to start a B Tech Biomedical Engineering programme. 

This course is co-designed by the UPES with Wipro GE Healthcare and will be co-delivered by their healthcare experts during different semesters. Upon successful completion of the modules, students will receive a certificate of completion by Wipro GE Healthcare. 

Under the programme, the final year students will be provided an opportunity to attend a 21 day advanced training program at the GE Healthcare institute in Bengaluru. Upon completion of the advance certification, students will also be provided an internship within the healthcare industry, so that they are ready for the job from the very first day and can serve as an asset to any healthcare employer. 

Under the agreement the Wipro GE Healthcare would set up a modern skill laboratory for students of the Biomedical Engineering programme.

The UPES VC Sunil Rai said, “With GE Healthcare experts teaching our students in class and in the GE Healthcare equipped lab, we are certain that they will be nurtured with the required skill set, problem solving ability and be made industry ready.’’ 

The head of Service Sales and Education Solutions, Wipro GE Healthcare, Shakeel Iqbal said, “ With this unique collaboration with UPES,  we will be able to provide a cadre of highly skilled and job-ready biomedical engineers to the industry, who can serve the growing healthcare ecosystem of India.”
