U’khand gets its first motorcycle squad of home guards

The first motorcycle squad of Uttarakhand Home Guards was founded on Monday under the leadership of Inspector General (IG) of Police Kewal Khurana. A programme was organised at Police Line in Dehradun where the motorcycle squad from several districts including Tehri, Haridwar and Dehradun displayed their several training, exercises and balancing stunts. In the programme Khurana presented a cash amount of Rs 5,000 to the Jawan who got injured during his stint in the programme. Khurana praised the performance of all Jawans and directed the officials concerned to prepare a similar squad of women home guards of the State.  He said that the motorcycle squad of home guards participated in the ceremonial parade with only 12 days of preparation. Their performance was lauded by CM and other dignitaries.

 The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Amitabh Srivastava, Commandant LM Joshi, Gautam Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
