UGB distributes more than Rs 78 crore as loan for women empowerment

Uttarakhand Gramin Bank as part of its women empowerment initiatives for the financial year 2022-23 distributed loans worth more than Rs 78  crore to 5,667 self-help groups formed by the rural and economically unprivileged women.

Informing about this, the chairman of the bank Harihar Patnaik said that in the financial year 2021-22, the bank had distributed loans worth more than Rs 46 crore to 4,489 women self- help groups. He said that there has been a substantial increase this financial year in the loan amount distributed to raise the social and financial status of rural women.  “We are now trying to raise the amount further,” Patnaik added. He further said that the UGB facility is being taken to the remotest areas of the state through its 287 branches and 774 CSPs.
