Traffic to remain diverted during the Assembly session

Traffic on many routes will remain diverted in Dehradun due to the Assembly session which is scheduled to commence from today. The police informed that considering the probable protests and rallies on  during the session barricades will be installed at Pragati Vihar, Shastri Nagar, By-pass, Defence Colony and Vidhan Sabha junction. All heavy vehicles coming from the ISBT route will be diverted from Kargi Chowk and Doiwala towards Dudhli Road. In case of more traffic pressure, the entire traffic from the Jogiwala side will be diverted from the Rispana Bridge to the Bypass and all vehicles will be sent from Mata Mandir Road towards Dharampur. During the closure of the Pragati Vihar barrier, vehicles going from Dehradun to Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri and Chamoli will be diverted from Fountain Chowk to Chhe Number Puliya. During the closure of the barrier in Shastri Nagar, vehicles from Mohkampur on their way to Dehradun city will be sent from Jogiwala to Chhee Number Puliya via Fountain Chowk, Araghar and EC Road. The police informed that the traffic passing through Dharampur Chowk to ISBT will be diverted from the old Bypass Chowki to ISBT via Mata Mandir Road. Traffic going towards Mussoorie from the Mohkampur route will be diverted to Jogiwala, Ring road, Ladpur, Sahastradhara crossing and IT Park to reach Mussoorie. On the departure of rallies from Bannu School to Pragati Vihar Barrier, the vehicles arriving from Rispana Bridge towards Dehradun city will be sent to Old Bypass Chowki via Haridwar bypass and traffic will be diverted to Fountain Chowk and Chhe Number Puliya. The police informed that commercial vehicles going to Defense Colony will be diverted from Nehru Colony Thana Cut to Old Bypass Chowki but the personal vehicles of residents will be diverted only under special circumstances.  According to the police, traffic can be diverted or normalised on any route on Tuesday as per the orders of authorities.
