Top leaders of Cong to hold night stays in villages

With an eye on assembly elections the party directs its leaders to camp in the villages

In view of the upcoming assembly elections, the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to field its top leaders in different parts of the state on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. These leaders would stay in these destinations for two days and nights. Informing about the plan of the Congress party, the co-in-charge of Uttarakhand Congress Rajesh Dharmani said that the Congress leaders would visit all 67 Nyaya Panchayats of the state and take the public feedback.

As per the plan the in charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav would camp at Ranikhet, co in-charge Rajesh Dharmani at Uttarkashi, co in-charge Dipika Pandey Singh at Haridwar, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal in Pauri, head of the election campaign committee and former chief minister Harish Rawat in Kotdwar, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Pritam Singh at Dehradun, former PCC president Kishore Upadhyaya at Tehri, executive president Ranjit Rawat at Rudraprayag, executive president Tilak Raj Behed at Udham Singh Nagar,  executive president Bhuwan Kapdi at Nainital, Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta at Champawat, former Vidhan Sabha president Govind Singh Kunjwal at Almora and Manish Khanduri at Chamoli.

Sharing the basic idea behind the programme, Dharmani said that there are five to six villages in every Nyaya Panchayat and the senior leaders would visit these villages and hold night stays there. He said that apart from infusing enthusiasm among the workers the programme would ensure that more and more people get connected with the party. The social media cell of the party is planning to live stream the programmes on Facebook and other social media platforms.
